Video Update #3

After a serious experimentation process for nearly a month, I finally have something that I'm happy about. In this video, we will have our first look at what an Underlair is prone to feel and look like.

I'm now continuing with the experimentation as other aspects of Underlairs still need to be considered. Hopefully, I won't take as long for the next update.

  1. Looks Amazing! Can't wait to play. Would love to see a Patheon page so we can support you.

    1. Hello! Sorry for only taking a look at your comment now. I'm not used having comments on the website lol! I guess that is changing now. Did you mean Patreon? I'm working on having a Patreon page. I'll announce it once it is fully working. There are so many things I need to take care at the moment. Stay tunned!

  2. I've just discovered your project yesterday and I am already in love. Turns. Grids. Parties. Procedural content. Underlair ticks of so many of my dream dungeon crawler list, it feels as if you'd create this project for me personally!
Would love to support you in any way possible.

    1. Hello! Sorry for my late response! I'm really glad to hear that! It seems we have a common goal. I'm currently setting up a Patreon page. I hope it will get some attention because, I have this vision for the game but it will definitely require external help to hire people for the job.

    2. Glad to heat that! I'd love to help out in any way - be that as a Patreon, by giving feedback and moral support here or if you ever have any low-skill work for the game you feel like handing off.

    3. Thanks Moorkh, that means a lot and I'm not saying it just to be nice. Do you use discord?

    4. I do, more and more often, even. Still don't see devs using a third-party platform to interact with their community (as opposed to their own community forums) as inherently problematic, but it does have its perks, and, frankly, isn't Blogspot rather similar in that regard?

    5. I'm seeing more and more devs using Discord as an additional tool to stay close to their communities. I should probably think about building a discord channel for that; also, patreon seems to have a close connection with Discord as being part of a perk system. Regardless, there is something I would like to discuss with you.

    7. Well, this doesn't seem to have worked. You should be able to contact my through my blogspot profile, or else just make your own profile here visible and I'll try to get in touch :)

  3. Mr.Badler, please create a Steam page for the game so we could wishlist it. Or at least register a Twitter account to subscribe to. Thank you.

    1. I don't know any more than you do, but it seems to me the project might just not yet be ripe for a Steam page. And even if it was, we don't really know if Steam is the route Ularis is planning to release this by.
While I'd love for Ularis to build a community here, there's not much of a forum for this. Instead, he seems to engage over at RPGCodex. If you just want to stay up to date, you can just use the RSS feed he offers at the bottom of the page. Twitter would fit the retro theme here a lot less, methinks ;)

    2. Hello, sir.

I absolutely agree with you regarding the Steam page. This is not the only or even the first-priority platform where you should present a project like yours. But let me disagree about Twitter. I'm subscribed to several developers of Grid Based Dungeon Crawler RPGs who feel quite at ease on Twitter. It is from Twitter that I draw the absolute majority of game news in the genre I love so much. Check out these notable examples :

      https://twitter.com/dungeonkingdom
      https://twitter.com/almosthumanltd
      https://twitter.com/FatbotGames
      https://twitter.com/GraverobberFND

Please, sir, create if not a game page on Twitter, then at least your personal page as a developer. It's never too early to start gathering loyal and devoted followers :)

    3. Moorkh is right. There is so much I need to do before I can create an appealing page in Steam. And yes, this one is going definitely into Steam. Thank you guys for showing interest in Underlair.
